David Jones is the leader of Van Conway and Partners’ dispute resolution/litigation services practice. He has over forty years of experience providing complex financial and business solutions to hundreds of companies and has over thirty years of experience providing litigation support services and advisory services to underperforming businesses and related parties.

As a litigation support consultant, Mr. Jones has extensive experience, including providing expert testimony in cases involving the quantification of economic damages, lost profits, disputed business valuations and related matters. He also has experience in matters involving antitrust, False Claims Act, lender liability, accounting malpractice and matters involving intellectual property. In addition, Mr. Jones is uniquely qualified to provide expert assistance and testimony in matters involving fraud and forensic accounting, including detection, investigation and quantification, bankruptcy litigation and arbitration services. He regularly participates in coordinating discovery efforts, developing case strategies and evaluating settlement options.

As a financial advisor, Mr. Jones has represented clients in various industries including automotive, manufacturing, steel, service, transportation and real estate. He has worked closely with debtors, lenders and creditor committees in out-of-court, Chapter 11 and Chapter 9 restructurings. He has provided consulting services in connection with turnaround, profit enhancement, and cost reduction strategies. In addition, Mr. Jones has served as an interim Chief Financial Officer in the automotive, oil and gas, and building materials industries.

Previous Experience

From 1988 to 2016 Mr. Jones was a Managing Director and Office Practice Leader of the Litigation Group at Conway MacKenzie in Birmingham, Michigan, where he provided valuation, litigation support and financial advisory services to underperforming businesses for clients in a wide range of industries, including Original Equipment Manufacturers, automobile suppliers and automobile dealerships around the country. Mr. Jones started his professional career at Deloitte where he performed audits of financial statements of many fortune 500 companies, including General Motors Corporation. Mr. Jones also provided advisory services for many automobile dealerships in Southeastern Michigan. Mr. Jones is frequently called upon to provide a wide range of professional services including litigation and valuation services in connection with automobile dealerships.
